1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that websites store on your device to remember things between visits — like keeping you signed in or remembering your language. This policy explains which cookies Roalo uses and how you control them.
2. Essential cookies (always on)
These cookies are required for the Service to work. They cannot be turned off because the Service would not function without them:
- Authentication cookies (names starting with "sb-") — set by our authentication provider, Supabase, to keep you signed in securely.
- NEXT_LOCALE — remembers your language preference (English or Spanish). Kept for 1 year.
3. Analytics cookies
We use PostHog product analytics. PostHog sets cookies (names starting with "ph_") and collects events about how you use the app — pages viewed, features used — associated with your account, plan, US state, and gig platforms. We use this to understand what is working and improve the product.
Analytics are on by default. If your browser sends the "Do Not Track" signal, we honor it — analytics stay off and these cookies are never set.
4. Error tracking and session replay
We use Sentry to collect error reports when something breaks. Basic error reporting is always on — it is part of running a reliable service and does not use advertising cookies.
Sentry session replay — which captures anonymized snapshots of screen interactions around errors to help us debug — is part of this error monitoring.
5. What we do not use
We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, or social media trackers, and we do not sell data collected through cookies.
6. Opting out
To opt out of analytics, turn on the "Do Not Track" setting in your browser — we honor it, and analytics will not load or set cookies. You can also clear or block cookies for this site in your browser settings.
Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies entirely, but blocking essential cookies will prevent sign-in from working.
